Bulbs

Welcome to High Quality Store Bulbs Collection

Round and with a tapered end, the bulb is the underground fulcrum of bulbous plants. It blooms and resists cold climates, or, on the contrary, drought: there are so many varieties to expand its green corner, suitable for both the garden and the terrace.

Hyacinths, daffodils, dahlias, lilies and other flowering bulbs color and perfume our green spaces but also vast fields, such as the famous Dutch red tulips. We would not say, but saffron, a precious spice used in cooking, is a bulb plant that we can buy and grow in our garden!

How to choose the bulbs

The bulbs are distinguished according to the season of their flowering, which is preceded by the phase of setting, that is when the bulb is planted in the ground. The bulbs take about a season to bloom, so those planted in late summer will bloom in winter and so on, following the cycle of nature.

An important factor, in the case of novice gardeners, is the ease with which a bulb flourishes every year: the perennial snowdrop, for example, blooms easily for consecutive years; the lily, on the other hand, requires a little more maintenance.

Among the winter bulbs we find snowdrops and irises. If, on the other hand, you want to see your flower garden in spring, you can buy and plant hyacinths, daffodils or tulips in autumn.

In a summer garden the begonia bulbs can form colorful flowerbeds, or you can prefer white calla lilies and perennials like agapanto, which can flower for several consecutive years. Among the autumn bulbs there are dahlias and colorful anemones, which have large flowers. Before planting any bulb, it is advisable to make sure that the soil is not excessively wet and to create a draining base with gravel or similar material.
